My name is Drayton Travis. I am a creative and versatile professional with a background in education and design. I attended Herron School of Art in 1997. My life took a turn when I had children. I put school on hold and began working to support my family. I worked as a preschool teacher for the next twelve years where I created daily lesson plans and class materials. I also created wall art to coincide with the school's monthly themes. My hard work and dedication to my students was fulfilling; most of my students started elementary school more advanced than their peers. After the preschool closed its doors in 2016, I began working as a print room technician at Gilliatte General Contractors. At the same time, I decided to go back to school and finish my degree in Visual Communications.

 

I attended Herron School of Art at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign. My experience includes logo design, infographics, typography, book spreads, brochures, posters, branding, and web design. I completed my degree in December 2024, graduating from Indiana University at Indianapolis with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications Design.

 

I have used my design experience in my current role at Gilliatte General Contractors where I designed the company website, create branding and marketing materials, and create and manage social media content on five different platforms.
